This 18th century corner cupboard is excellent for the display of pewter, glass, or china. The authentic "H" hinges and bar latch with strike is the hardware you should seek if you plan on an authentic-looking 18th century cabinet. The plain tongue and groove door enhances the fine accuracy of the style. Scrolled shelves and stiles add decorative interest to the upper section and these are the pieces which would have reflected the personality of the woodworker. The jig centers the dowel before it engages the 1/16" bit, resulting in a perfectly centered hole.

This tall chest desined by Brian Murphy of American Furniture Design was strongly influenced by the Shaker style of furniture. The design orginates from a similar piece made in the 1830's. This is a tall piece which will dominate the setting you choose to place it in. It was made of Imbuya which is departure from the traditional cherry of the Shaker furniture and has walnut burl inserts in the doors. The wood and material must be purchased at your local lumber supply company; we only supply the woodworking plan and instruction booklet to build the project.

The self-contained table and bench design provides plenty of seating capacity in a relatively small area.
